7 Common Life Regrets and How To Avoid Them

Have you ever pictured the final day of your life, if you knew it was to be your final day? Picture it for a moment now, and I ask you; what changes would you make? Have you any regrets?

More than likely you don’t actually regret anything you have done, achieved or experienced in your life, we rarely do. It is much more common to look back and wish we had done more, we tend to regret the things we didn’t do.

Healthy Mind Week Day 7: Every Day Matters

Welcome back to November’s Healthy Mind Power Week: Today is Day 7! 7 days of short inspirational reads to get your day (and month) off to a great start!

“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” – Annie Dillard

This is one of my favourite quotes, it is a blunt reminder that today is as important as any goal we are striving for, any trip we are planning, it’s more important than all of our wants, because today is our life. Tomorrow becomes today, yesterday was a today only hours ago.

It’s easy to put things off, to sit on the couch and watch Netflix. To say, I’ll do it tomorrow. However, in old age, when you look back on your life, what do you want to see? Adventures, or Netflix and the mundane?

Today, I challenge you to stop waiting for tomorrow and to fully realize that today is all that matters, make sure you’re spending your day how you want to spend your life. Be present and don’t let life happen to you, make it happen how you want. Life is happening right now, make it count. Choose happiness, choose joy, choose love, choose adventure.

Have a fantastic 7th day of the month and I’ll see you back here next month for Healthy Mind Power Week, and next week for my usual weekly blog. Don’t forget to subscribe with your email, and I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Healthy Mind Week Day 6: Take Responsibility

Welcome back to November’s Healthy Mind Power Week: Today is Day 6! 7 days of short inspirational reads to get your day (and month) off to a great start!

“No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.” – Voltaire

It is very easy to go about our day to day lives not taking responsibility for other people’s lives or the state of the world. We assume we are not in a position of power to change the world for better so we sit back and wait for someone else to do it.

The thing is, if we really want to create a world that is better for us all to live in, the difference needs to begin with us. With social media at our fingertips we have the power to reach a lot of people, even in our day to day lives we can positively influence those around us and in turn they influence the people around them.

Today, I challenge you to be the snowflake in an avalanche and cause a positive butterfly effect! Whether it’s choosing a plant based diet to reduce our carbon footprint, spreading joy and positivity to those around us, being the person to encourage health and fitness in the workplace, discouraging gossip, sponsoring a child in a 3rd world country, encouraging love and tolerance in our children. The list is endless.

Have a fantastic 6th day of the month and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Day 7 of Healthy Mind Power Week! Don’t forget to subscribe with your email, and I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Healthy Mind Week Day 5: Love What You Do

Welcome back to November’s Healthy Mind Power Week: Today is Day 5! 7 days of short inspirational reads to get your day (and month) off to a great start!

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” – Steve Jobs

Have you ever wondered how you got to where you are now? What steps did you take to get to the place you are in your career? Were they intentional? Or did you just go with the flow and all of a sudden you’ve realised, actually, I don’t like my job, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life doing this!

We spend an average of 40 hours a week at work, about 2000 hours a year. That’s a lot of time doing ANYTHING. The concept of working to live, as opposed to living to work is nice, but realistically, we spend so much time at work, it is vital we enjoy what we do.

Today, I challenge you to question your happiness levels in your career. If you have a job that you love and are satisfied doing, then congratulations, that’s great! If you are unsatisfied, then begin today! I don’t suggest you quit your job (not immediately anyway), but question what you are truly passionate about in regards to career goals, and what steps you can take to make that passion into a career reality. Is it attending night school? Actioning that small business plan? There’s no day like today to begin!

Have a fantastic 5th day of the month and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Day 6 of Healthy Mind Power Week! Don’t forget to subscribe with your email, and I would love to hear from you in the comment section below.
